Honey Dijon:
BLACK GIRL MAGIC
with Marina Esmeraldo

Solo exhibition
Dover Street Market,
London
& Hen’s Teeth Gallery,
Dublin

Black Girl Magic celebrates six black warriors, goddesses and  icons of music chosen by artist and activist DJ Honey Dijon in bright and bold, large-scale neons, designed by artist Marina Esmeraldo at the invitation of Hen’s Teeth, a Dublin–based gallery and creative studio.

The metre high pieces launched at Dover Street Market in London, followed by a month–long exhibition at Hen’s Teeth’s Dublin 8 gallery.

Limited edition neons of Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Sade, Erykah Badu, and Sylvester, along with a selection of prints and merch, are available to purchase online at Hen’s Teeth Store.

Neon views: Diana Ross, Grace Jones & Sade.

Neon views: Erykah Badu, Sylvester & Chaka Khan.

Wanting to convey the ultimate reverence, I circled each of them with the halo traditional in religious icon imagery.

What a dream project to work on!
Music and dancing are a part of my identity.
